IAI RACON-20 is a single-axis AC servo actuator controller unit for the modular IAI ROBONET system. It operates with a matching IAI actuator and communicates with the machine PLC through an installed ROBONET gateway.
Multiple RACON and RPCON controller units can be combined within a ROBONET assembly, allowing several actuator axes to share the gateway, communication network and controller-system structure. RACON-20 is primarily required for maintenance of installed legacy machinery.

Related IAI ROBONET family model: RACON-30. This related unit belongs to the same RACON controller family but uses a different actuator and driver capacity configuration. RACON-30 is included for related-model coverage only and is not automatically interchangeable with RACON-20.
Confirm the complete controller code, actuator capacity, motor and encoder configuration, gateway model, module position, firmware, connectors and stored parameters before replacement.
RACON-20 can be found in ROBONET-based assembly machines, transfer equipment, packaging systems, inspection stations, production fixtures and handling mechanisms. The installed gateway determines the upper-level fieldbus or serial communication method.
The controller unit may operate independently within the machine sequence while the gateway coordinates commands, status information and alarms between several axes and the PLC.
Before removing RACON-20, record its exact position within the ROBONET assembly and photograph the adjacent controller units, gateway, power modules and actuator connectors. Back up the position data and gateway configuration whenever possible.
Do not install RACON-30, RPCON or an RCON driver unit solely because the housing or system connector appears similar. These modules may control different motors, ratings and actuator families.
IAI identifies ROBONET RACON as a discontinued platform and lists RCON-AC as its successor. The replacement system has different dimensions, performance and operating patterns, so system conversion requires a complete compatibility review.
Please provide photographs of the RACON-20 label, ROBONET gateway, complete module assembly and connected actuator nameplate when requesting a quotation. Product condition, firmware, included connectors, parameter service, warranty and delivery time should be confirmed before ordering.
